...well, sort of.
ever since i've arrived i have complained of having to go to the laundry place to do laundry (duh). here, there's no 25 peso/kilo labandera that you can text and they come pick up your dirty clothes and give them back to you the next day all folded and smelling nice.
doing laundry in winter time is a bee-otch. it's never fun when you arrive home, climb 4 flights (nope, our building doesn't have a lift), pack 2 big ikea bags full of laundry, go down 4 flights, go out in the cold, walk 1 block to the laverie, wait 45 minutes, come back up 4 flights with 2 big ikea bags full of WET laundry, and go out the balcony to hang all 18 kilos...in 0 degrees. horay!
we have been living like that for almost 4 months...a week ago we were finally freed from slavery!
at 9 am the delivery guys were shouting "darty! darty" in the whole building (even though they had our exact address) waking up our neighbors. our new baby has arrived!!
of course i immediately had to do 1 cycle to test it. we haven't done our laundry since we ordered it 2 weeks ago so you can imagine the amount of dirty clothes piled up in our bathroom by now.
then it came to me. i wasn't actually freed from slavery. i still had to do laundry...and now there's even an excuse for me to do it more often.
well, at least doing laundry in a warm flat is nicer than having to go to the laverie lugging kilos and kilos of clothes. plus, it's been snowing the past few days.
that reminds me, i have to go load the machine to do a cycle before going to bed so we'll have fresh clothes by monday.
peace and luv,
xc
