everyday i go through my coin purse to check how much i can spend for lunch that day. everyday i go to the supermarket a block away to do lunch shopping. some days it's a sandwich (most days i should say) others it's a 2-minute microwave meal usually some sort of pasta. i don't like going to fast food joints anymore...no more mcdonald's and kfc for me. sometimes i bring food from home but nowadays it's just so depressing to get up in the morning while it's still dark that i don't even bother.
today i sort of was craving for salad (i've been craving for salad for the past 3 days) so i went to the supermarket to check out what's available. a bowl of leaves is more expensive than a nice sandwich. then again a small bowl of salad won't be enough to whet my appetite so i thought of maybe buying a small sandwich plus salad. but by the time i made that decision, i wasn't craving for salad anymore. so i left the supermarket to walk around and maybe, hopefully, find something to eat.
i found a daily monop' (a small version of the supermarket but only selling ready to eat meals) in a side street and went in. basically it was the same stuff as that in the supermarket. i decided, again, to just get the salad-sandwich meal there but what do i see just beside the salad area?
a small freezer full of ben and jerry's goodies!!!
to make the long story short: lunch menu for the day: ham and cheese sandwich with a side of chunky monkey.
I've always bought ben and jerry's by pints and this one's just one small cup. i didn't know that a spoon was already provided inside. cool.
at 2.90, my ice cream was more expensive than my sandwich. but who cares!! it's friday and i can do whatever i want.
it seems that i only post entries on fridays.
